We’re thrilled to announce an exclusive collaboration between Aburi Hana and the iconic Langdon Hall. On June 25th, Chef @chefbangerter and Chef @ryusuke_nakagawa will come together for a one-night-only dining experience at Aburi Hana in Toronto.

Chef Jason Bangerter and Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa draw from two distinct traditions—modern Canadian and modern Japanese. Both chefs approach their roots with deep respect, using local, seasonal ingredients to express heritage through a contemporary lens. Join us for an unforgettable evening of craftsmanship, creativity, and cross-cultural harmony.

ABURI HANA x PARK HYATT (JUNE 2025)

Aburi Hana × Park Hyatt Toronto: Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa & Chef Jonathan Williams is a first-of-its-kind dining experience between Park Hyatt Toronto, one of the city's most iconic luxury hotels, and Aburi Hana, Toronto’s top MICHELIN-starred Japanese kaiseki destination. Marking the finale of Sakura Season, the dinner showcases the refined techniques of Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa, trained under a master chef to the Emperor of Japan, alongside the contemporary Canadian style of Chef Jonathan Williams, the creative force behind Park Hyatt Toronto’s culinary resurgence.

Only 30 guests will experience the 8-course tasting menu, with dishes presented in alternating courses by chef Ryusuke Nakagawa and chef Jonathan Williams. The menu features Chef Ryusuke’s famed Lobster Kimiyaki with uni and chia seed soy and Maguro Flower Sashimi, paired with Chef Williams’ locally inspired creations, including Aged Duck and Mimosa Springs Trout. The meal concludes with a Miyazaki Mango dessert by Aburi Hana’s Executive Pastry Chef Aiko Uchigoshi, whose 15+ years of award-winning pastry experience reflect her roots in Yamaguchi, Japan.

The evening begins with a welcome cocktail and canapés, crafted in partnership with Roku Gin, set against the sweeping skyline views from Park Hyatt Toronto’s 17th-floor Terrace Room. Live music will accompany the dinner.

 
 

ABURI HANA x Änkôr (October 2024)

On October 22nd, 2024, Executive Chef Danny Beaulieu of Canmore’s Canada’s 100 Best ranked Änkôr and Executive Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa of Toronto’s one-MICHELIN-Starred Aburi Hana joined force for a collaborative dinner hosted at Aburi Hana in Toronto.

Chefs Danny Beaulieu and Ryusuke Nakagawa delivered a twelve-course contemporary dining experience. The menu began with four snacks and six savoury dishes crafted by both chefs. The dining experience concluded with two desserts and two mignardises, offering a harmonious blend of their culinary expertise.

Chef Danny Beaulieu, hailing from Sherbrooke, Québec, started his career as a server and bartender before discovering his true passion in the kitchen. After over a decade of refining his culinary skills, he opened Änkôr in Canmore, Alberta, in November 2020. The restaurant has since garnered significant acclaim, including a spot in Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants in 2024, alongside the inaugural People’s Choice Award. Änkôr’s menu showcases the richness of Canadian terroir with seasonal ingredients that celebrate local flavours.

ABURI HANA x ALO RESTAURANT (JANUARY 2024)

A collaborative dinner experience between Chef Patrick Kriss from the renowned Alo restaurant and Ryusuke Nakagawa from Aburi Hana.

This special collaboration menu, expertly paired with fine beverages by Wine Director Christopher Sealy and Sake Director Amy Lee, married contemporary French cuisine with modern Kyō-Kaiseki dining, bringing diners to a destination of unimaginable taste and refined culinary skills.

ABURI HANA X RESTAURANT PEARL MORISSETTE (AUGUST 2023)

During 2023’s summer, esteemed MICHELIN Star restaurant @hanayorkville and Canada's 100 Best: Best Destination Restaurant @restaurant_pearlmorissette came together for a series of two collaborative dinners at each restaurant.

For the two evenings, Ryusuke Nakagawa (@ryusuke_nakagawa) & Aiko Uchigoshi (@okia_dessert) teamed up with Eric Robertson (@_eric.roberston_) & Daniel Hadida (@danieldoesit) for one of Canada's most epic culinary events. Together, our outstanding chefs curated unforgettable evenings that explored Canada's regional ingredients, local food & farming ecosystem, and Kaiseki cuisine.
